Bruno Gomes

ABOUT

FullSizeRender_VSCO 181.JPG

Bruno Gomes is a Brazilian visual artist based in Barcelona. Before turning his practice toward painting, he spent nearly two decades working across design, fashion and creative direction, building brands and developing visual narratives shaped by travel, culture and the natural world. In 2020, painting emerged intuitively as a new territory for this ongoing exploration, gradually becoming the center of his artistic practice.

His work moves between abstract and botanical painting, drawing from direct observation of nature, memory and the experience of being immersed in landscapes. Rather than reproducing the natural world, Bruno uses organic forms, layers, color and recurring symbols to explore the subtle relationships between nature, consciousness and human presence. His process is largely intuitive and begins without sketches, allowing each composition to unfold through movement, uncertainty and discovery.

This practice has been shaped by periods of close contact with natural environments, including an extended stay in Brazil’s Atlantic Forest, where observation became both method and subject. Bruno has presented his work in Lisbon, Lecce and Barcelona, and continues to develop a body of work concerned with nature not simply as landscape, but as a space of connection, perception and unity.
